Everyone enjoys a long walk in the peace that nature brings to the soul and in Midgar there was no better place to enjoy this than the park referred to as Nature’s Grove. The peaceful park was not manmade at all. The man who began the building of the beautiful city saw this place and decided to leave it untouched for the locals to enjoy the true beauty of the natural world. Natural paths cut their way through the park and moved about the center point of the park.
Set in the very center of the park was a natural waterfall and spring that would make any man stop to enjoy the beauty of the scenery. Many times in the city you could see lovely women bathing in the spring or below the waterfall. At night some of the city’s most daring lovers would enter the waterfall and enjoy each other beneath it. This area of the park was shaded by large trees making it private on most sides.
The lucky traveler could spot bushes where the sweetest berries grew wild as they were meant to. If they were even luckier, the bushes would be in full bloom and a berry could be taken and enjoyed. The locals would avoid the bushes like they were the plague though because as sweet as the berries were they could cause interesting things to happen within your being. It’s rumored that many years ago an alchemist made a terribly powerful potion to give to a girl whom he desperately wanted to mate. The very potent aphrodisiac potion was meant to make her want him more than life itself. When he went to find her, he met her in the very place where the berries grew, but he found her there with another man. The alchemist out of jealousy slew her there and then he dumped the potion into the roots of the bushes making the berries themselves become affected by this potion. One who would eat the berries would experience the effects of the potion for a few hours before it would finally wear off. The bad thing about this is that the one who ate the berries would be driven mad with lust for the first person they looked at. Sometimes the younger generations would test out the legend by eating the berries and looking at each other to see what the effects would do to them, though they couldn’t tell the stories afterwards because once the effect wore off, they would remember nothing of the encounter.
